Our Story

Founded by two architectural designers, the hempress began because we saw complicated processing and extraction methods being used in the developing hemp and cannabis marketplace. We thought we could do better, with less complexity and less intervention, so we started by designing and fabricating hemp grinders that produced the perfect sized particle for ethanol or co2 extraction. We soon realized that these common extraction methods are expensive, and heavy handed, often stripping vital phytonutrients from the finished product. This led us to Cold-Press extraction which maintains whole plant medicine, promoting the entourage effect: a synergism of phytonutrients that provide an effect greater than the sum of its parts.

The hempress makes small batch, cold-pressed, bioavailable oils for the wellness market. Through our exclusive processes, we cold press and infuse hemp seed oil with Vermont grown hemp. We produce oils and supplements of the highest quality, backed by lab testing, nutritional testing, and the unwavering commitment to the highest quality ingredients. “Wow, I can feel the difference!” is the most common response that we hear.
